What type of batteries do the instruments use? How long do they last?
Courtesy of Sequoia Scientific, Inc.
All instruments use custom made alkaline battery packs, except the LISST-Portable with touch panel display and the LISST-Portable|XR that uses rechargeable Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) batteries. Older versions of the LISST-Portable uses rechargeable Nickel Metal-Hydride (NiMH) batteries.
The LISST-100X and LISST-STX use a custom 9V, 42Ah battery pack composed of 18 alkaline D-cells.
The LISST-HOLO use a custom 15V, 42Ah battery pack composed of 30 alkaline D-cells.
The batteries can be purchased from Sequoia or from our distributors. If you would like to wire up your own batteries, please contact us for a battery drawing.
The LISST-25 uses 4 standard 9V alkaline batteries.
The LISST-VSF and LISST-Stokes use a rechargeable battery (14V, 40Ah) in an external battery pack. This battery pack can also be used to power the LISST-Holo.
The LISST-100 and LISST-ST instruments are no longer supported and batteries for these are no longer available for purchase. You can download drawings for the LISST-100 and LISST-ST batteries here.
The batteries can typically last for months, but it depends on the exact sampling configuration. You can download a battery calculator for the LISST-100X (and LISST-STX) on the LISST-100X product page.
