According to the International Energy Agency (IEA) wind electricity generation increased by 17% in 2021, up by 55% from the growth in 2020, and experienced the highest growth when compared to other renewable energies. With the steady increase in wind power generation, the likelihood of environmental impacts, albeit much lower than fossil fuel power generation, are becoming more prominent requiring detailed assessments and mitigation.
