When King-Sized Turbines Are Just Too Large: In an age of King-sized wind turbines designed for wide open spaces, Aeronautica Windpower is proud to introduce the 750 Series: Three-Quarter megawatt, `Queen-size` machines designed for `distributed wind` applications. Many good wind sites just cannot accommodate huge, utility-scale turbines. It is also ideal to be utilized for maximization of many state net metering legislations in place. A large number of sites, especially around populated areas,are better suited to a sub-utility size machine. The 750 is the perfect fit.

The innovative design of the LARUS Compact drivetrain incorporates a simplified gearbox that reduces wear and tear on the machine, as well as drastically reduces the tower head weight of the nacelle.  The majority of wind turbine failures happen within the gearbox, the LARUS Compact® design includes a reduced number of moving parts, reducing the likelihood of damage, making it more reliable. The LARUS Compact® drivetrain was designed with up-tower repair- and replacement capability in mind. The direct gateway from the nacelle housing to the rotor hub increases the accessibility and simplicity of maintenance.

The Aeronautica W2E 3MW Wind Turbine with LARUS Compact drivetrain offers the most abundant option for distributed wind generation. Ideal for industrial plants and wind farms, the 3MW is newly redesigned with a strong focus on durability and reducing unscheduled maintenance events. In 2011, W2E partnered with Winergy AG, a tenured drivetrain design company to introduce a medium-speed hybrid drive to the 3MW machines. Over 20 years have gone into research and development for the hybrid drive that further enhances efficiency of energy production to 96.5%.
