Steam Turbine Generators

Model Indy Series - Steam Turbine Generators

Skid-mounted steam turbine and direct-coupled induction generator. How Much Is Wasted Steam Pressure Costing You? If your facility is operating a steam boiler at a higher pressure than you need for your process, a steam turbine generator might save you hundreds of thousands of dollars on your electric bill. AirClean’s Indy STG is a modular, easy to install unit that provides an effective means to letdown your steam pressure through the turbine to generate electricity.  This captured energy helps to power your facility and improve your overall efficiency.

Model Sync Series - Steam Turbine Generators

Steam turbine and gear-reduced synchronous generator. Looking for More Options in a Steam Turbine Generator? If you want to produce power when you reduce your steam pressure, a steam turbine generator can provide the ideal solution to meet your needs. For steam systems with higher flow or efficiency requirements which preclude Indy Series STG’s, AirClean’s Sync Series STG’s will fulfill your needs. The Sync Series offers higher turbine efficiency than the Indy Series by adding a gearbox between the turbine and the generator. This allows the turbine speed to be optimized for maximum power production. In addition, AirClean uses a synchronous generator for the Sync Series rather than an induction generator. While an induction unit can only be used parallel with the grid, a synchronous steam turbine generator can also operate in isolation.

Waste to Energy

Refuse Derived Fuel

Power Generation for Refuse Derived Fuel: From the Landfill to Energy Generation: The non-recyclable, combustible portion of landfill waste (or municipal solid waste – MSW) can be used as a fuel source for heating or power generation. There are a number of strategies for burning the fuel, including mass burns, gasification, pyrolization, anaerobic digestion and others. Taking advantage of these fuel sources can reduce the reliance upon fossil fuels while simultaneously reducing the need for additional landfill space and treatment facilities. There are a number of strategies for processing the fuel prior to combustion, ranging from simple sorting to shredding to pelletizing. Frequently, more heavily processed MSW fuels are called “refuse derived fuel” or RDF. Processing the fuel improves combustion by making the heat and moisture content of the fuel more consistent. Shredding and pelletizing improve combustion efficiency by allowing the fuel to more quickly and evenly.
