American Society Of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Past Events
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is pleased to announce the 1st International Offshore Wind Technical Conference (IOWTC2018), to be held in San Francisco, CA, November 4-7, 2018. The conference will draw together members of the scientific community, researchers, academia and the offshore wind engineering industry from around the world. The OOAE Division of ASME is hosting the conference, with the local organizers being from Principle Power, Inc and The University of Massachusetts-Amherst. More than 100 technical papers will be presented at the conference in the following two tracks:
ASME is a not-for-profit membership organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing, career enrichment, and skills development across all engineering disciplines, toward a goal of helping the global engineering community develop solutions to benefit lives and livelihoods. Founded in 1880 by a small group of leading industrialists, ASME has grown through the decades to include more than 140,000 members in 151 countries.
Factors such as the increased use of intermittent power generation sources (e.g. renewables) create challenges for baseload power plants resulting from flexible operations. Minimizing equipment damage and assessing the true costs of cycling is more important than ever. This executive workshop is designed to address these key issues and assist companies in planning for the future.
