AG HyPer - Advanced PGM-based Catalysts for PEM Electrolysers and Fuel Cells
Ames Goldsmith Ceimig has developed a new range of HyPer catalysts for Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) technologies, focusing on both electrolysers and fuel cells. These catalysts leverage platinum group metals (PGMs) like platinum and iridium, combined into innovative alloys to achieve superior flexibility and performance in ambient conditions. As PGMs are rare and costly, the HyPer range employs nanoparticles sized between 2-8 nm, maximizing the surface area while minimizing metal usage. To optimize performance and mitigate sintering, these particles are deposited on advanced carbon supports. The HyPer FC variants enhance fuel cell durability and electrochemical performance, while the HyPer WE line, exemplified by HyPer WE 550 Iridium Ruthenium Oxide, demonstrates improved durability under severe electrolyser conditions. Ames Goldsmith Ceimig employs unique production processes ensuring a high-performance intimate alloy of iridium and ruthenium for synergistic benefits. Custom synthesis options are available for tailored applications.
