Pyrolysis Oil Purification
PUREMAX Technology for the Production of Circular Plastics and Sustainable Fuels. The current issue facing the pyrolysis of post-consumer plastic waste is the production of contaminated pyrolysis oil with a variety of impurities, including Chlorine, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Metals, Silica, Asphalt, and Acids. Traditional methods for removing these impurities, such as adsorbents, filtration, distillation and hydrotreating are not techno-commercially viable, rendering the contaminated pyrolysis oil unusable as a refinery feedstock for the production of circular plastics, sustainable chemicals, and sustainable jet/vehicle fuels. Furthermore, distillation alone is not an effective solution for purifying the pyrolysis oil.
