Anaerobic DigestionWhen it comes to the design, evaluation, and/or troubleshooting of anaerobic wastewater treatment systems, ATI is the leading engineering firm in the United States. ATI has been involved in over 100 projects dealing with anaerobic wastewater treatment and anaerobic digestion of high solids/high-strength wastes in the public and private sectors. ATI offers investigative, design and operational experience with numerous waste streams and their conversions to usable energy. We have evaluated and designed a variety of systems using a range of waste streams from municipal primary and secondary wastewater sludges to whey permeate and returned beverage products. Our biogas handling experience has ranged from simple characterization studies to the troubleshooting of failed or poorly performing biogas handling systems. These projects can involve straightforward conveyance systems or complicated siloxanes, sulfur and moisture removal technologies. They can also employ biogas utilization technologies ranging from direct combustion systems to multifunctional cogeneration systems that produce electricity and hot water.
