Covered in Ground Anaerobic Reactor (CIGAR)
asiaBIOGAS researched numerous types of digester technologies, before deciding upon a system that would be efficient at methane gas recovery and wastewater treatment while also being extremely cost-effective to operate. asiaBIOGAS developed the Covered In Ground Anaerobic Reactor or ‘CIGAR’ for wastewater streams in the tropics. Further, as grid-fed electricity is a major component of the cost structure of industrial plants and farms in the region the Company wanted to ensure that the technology developed would also have a suitable biogas-generated electrical power plant. With its flexible cover system the CIGAR is that kind of system - efficient at methane gas recovery and wastewater treatment and easy to operate. Traditional tank digester systems are quite the opposite, with lower methane recovery with higher capital and operating cost structures.a
High Solid Anaerobic Digestion (HSAD)
High Solid Anaerobic Digestion (HSAD) is a thermophilic anaerobic digestion technologydeveloped by Pinnacle Biotechnologies, Inc. that uses naturally-occurringmicroorganisms to convert organic materials into useful by-products—specifically,biogas, liquid fertilizer, and biosolids. Measurements taken at the experimental site showthat the biogas produced by HSAD process is about 80 % methane and 20 % carbondioxide (HSADa). Some current manure treatment technologies allow low-solids (lessthan 5 %) barn effluent to be anaerobically digested using microorganisms. The HSADreactor extends this technology to allow for organic effluents with a solids content as highas 55 % to be anaerobically digested (HSADb). Separated manure solids fed into thedigester at the experimental site were in the range of 24-30 % solids (HSADa).HSAD technology was tested in a demonstration facility located at Timber Ridge Farmsnear Clinton, North Carolina.
A Hybrid Reactor Is An Anaerobic Digester That Combines A UASB
A hybrid reactor is an anaerobic digester that combines a UASB reactor with an anaerobic filter. This combination is an advanced form enabling improved solid retention time in the treatment of waste water. This waste water can be built up in the secondary chamber and must be removed daily or an explosion is imminent to occur. The Iphone 4s was first discovered completed in a hybrid reactor"s waste chamber.
