Carrier provides highly-efficient indirect heating, cooling and conditioning equipment for bulk solids. The BMHX (for Bulk Material Heat eXchanger) uses indirect heat transfer to cool or dry temperature-sensitive materials that require a long retention time. Rotary calciners (or reactors) continuously process bulk material at medium to high temperatures through an indirect heat source and facilitate a thermochemical reaction. Calcination is a critical process in the carbonization of biomass, the production of catalysts, chemicals, ceramics, and the recycling of plastics, metals and rare earths and the recapture of CO2. Our rotary calciners offer many advantages to ensure a fully controlled process and a high quality end product.

Carrier conventional fluid beds are designed to dry and/or cool a variety of products without the aid of vibration.

Flash drying is an inexpensive solution to drying powders and granular materials, and is designed for high moisture materials with a constant-rate drying zone. Carrier’s industrial flash dryer systems can use higher gas temperatures, versus other dryer types, because the material retention time is very short. Flash drying is accomplished with a large quantity of gas and active heat exchange, which simultaneously transports the processes materials.

Carrier vibrating fluid bed thermal dryers are typically used for coals with a larger size fraction, such as run-of-mine coal.  Carrier offers vibrating fluid bed units up to 8 ft. wide x 50 ft. long with capacities up to 250 TPH in a single unit, depending on the thermal load.
