Cathay Composites offer an unrivalled range of woven fabric constructions such as plain, twill, satin weave, jacquard. Woven fabrics are available in Carbon Fibre, Fibreglass, Aramid (Kevlar) and Basalt materials. Woven Fabrics are the most commonly used as part of load-bearing structural components, they posses good designability features. Carbon fibre bi-directional fabric is suitable for various moulding methods (RTM, VARI).

Plain weave carbon fibre fabric is symmetrical with tows tightly interlaced in an over/under pattern. This style of fabric is highly stable ensuring it maintains its fibre orientation and weave angle. Due to its tight weave, plain weave fabrics do not work well on complex contours due their inability to flex. Ideal applications are flat sheets, tubes, and two-dimensional curves.

CC-Quantum Fabric sheet once infused within CC Quantum S yields a versatile high-performance composite which can be formed to a multitude of different shapes.

CC-Quantum Plates are pultruded resin impregnated carbon fibre sheets. These laminate plate provide additional load bearing capacity, increasing the ability to withstand flexural and shear loading. They are lightweight and posses a high tensile strength. It is part of Cathay’s CC Quantum system
