Dairy industry is of crucial importance to India. The country is the world`s largest milk producer, accounting for more than 13% of world’s total milk production. Heating water accounts for more than 30% of the energy in Dairy Industry of India. Apart from that Rising fuel prices have had a tremendous impact on milk processing industry now a days, the industry is constantly adopting various technologies to reduce operational costs the result of which various dairies have adopted low cost fuel as an option regardless the pollution &other unhygienic impacts. Today Milk processing plants need to transform &divert their attention to cleaner production/processing&need to opt for renewable energy as a source of fuel. One of such source is Concentrated solar thermal(CST) technologies.
Manufacturing of automobiles and auto components involves many steps such as casting, forging, painting and electroplating etc that require heat or steam. Original Equipment Manufacturers and larger players have in-house facilities to perform the above mentioned activities. However, some industries outsource the activities ie: electroplating and painting of the auto components to smaller and unorganized sector/units. The entire process requires large amount of energy in the form of both heat and electrical energy. Some of the typical processes in the automobile manufacturing are explained in the following figure.
The pulp and paper sector is one of the most energy intensive and highly polluting sectors and therefore is of particular interest to both local and global environmental discussions. The major share of energy which is needed in industrial production processes is below 250°C which could be easily supplied by Concentrated solar thermal(CST) technologies like ARUN solar boiler.
