The Credfeld axial flow register produces a suspended flame format where no part of the flame is in contact with the burner quarl. Consequently this maximises the life of the quarl, which is manufactured in special alloy steel. Gas burning can be achieved by individually removable pokers complete with independently removable gas nozzles or with a centrally located gas gun. In all cases the fuel and air are staged to minimize NOx and other reduction techniques can be utilized within the design such as FGR where applicable.

Credfeld combustion equipment incorporates design features to produce burner systems capable of sustaining a continuous ignition source to completely combust all the fuel with a minimum of excess air and minimal energy losses.

A complete range of non-retracting burner systems is available from Credfeld. The burners are positioned either within the confines of the coal burner with combustion air provided by that existing within the coal burner or by separate fans fitted to each oil burner. The Hydrapower burner operates with mechanical pressure for atomization & utilizes the full hydraulic pressure available to close the tip seal mechanism. The oil continues to flow at all times when the burner is not in service thus keeping the tip cool.

The Steam or Air Atomized burner utilizes medium pressure steam or compressed air as the atomizing and cooling medium with the added advantage of low pressure oil and wide turndown available for fuel saving. This type of burner can be readily used for full load firing where required by using the air available from the coal burner register. Additionally, the burners can be fitted with atomizer tips of the low NOx design to minimize emissions.

These are generally rated at 2MW to 13MW thermal and can be liquid or gas fuel fired. Burners are equipped with igniters, flame scanners and automatic valve assemblies as shown.

The UV and IR Cells are incorporated into a single head assembly, reducing the number of Viewing Heads required on multi-fuel burner applications. Both signal sources are passed from the Viewing Head to the Head Transmitter where they are conditioned into a single analogue signal, which feeds into one Flame Monitor Control Unit. This gives greater flexibility, especially where viewing space is limited.

The Igniter control system has been designed to offer maximum reliability and flexibility. The Igniter uses only on low tension cable to transmit the spark and also to receive the flame on signal, giving maximum with less congestion of the equipment.

The Portable Ignition Tester enables simulation of the Ignition Spark and Manual Flame detection. This will give the engineer the ability to check the operation of the Igniter prior to installation into the burner. The Ignition system comes complete with Ignition Control System, aluminium carry case and 3M Ignition lead.

The Credfeld modular valve cluster is a system of manual and automated valves providing the ON/OFF control function for the admission of fuel, atomising medium and burner gun purging to each burner. The burner gun is directly coupled thus providing a totally effective purging of the relevant burner passages and atomizer nozzle.
