The AWC 500 Advanced Controller (PLC-based PAC) is the latest addition to our AWC controller series. AWC 500 offers an unprecedented and unrivalled level of robustness. Not only on mechanical and electrical parameters does the AWC 500 constitute the most robust solution in the industry. The controller is suitable for cold climate or extended temperature operation. Heavy duty cut-in controller for asynchronous generators. The new generation of DEIF’s Thyristor Control Module (TCM-2) is very robust and designed to endure the harsh environment in a wind turbine. The TCM-2 is applied as a soft starter for connecting the turbine generator to the grid. DEIF TCM-2 is the most robust control solution for soft grid connection. The TCM-2 includes very advanced RPM-based double cut-in ramp that reduces grid impact and protective to the drive train, which no other Thyristor Controllers can compare with. It is perfect as a stand-alone component, but the CAN bus interface also makes it ideal for applications with a supervisory process controller.

Normally, a controller platform requires a new designed controller system and a fitted relay to protect the connection to the grid. DEIF Wind Power Technology has with resources in UK managed to integrate all the vital functions into one complete Grid Protection Module (GPM5·1) to fit into the AWC 500.

The MDR-2 is an advanced protection relay designed for safeguarding generators against internal short circuits by combining differential and short-circuit protection features. It addresses leakage currents by offering adjustable tripping characteristics to manage unbalanced current measurements, minimizing false trips. Users can access complete settings and review up to 150 past events or alarms directly through its integrated LCD screen, which also presents measured and calculated values to eliminate the need for extra meters and facilitate fault detection during commissioning. The MDR-2 provides options such as combined generator and step-up transformer protection, along with short-circuit and over-current alternatives. This makes the MDR-2 an essential tool for optimizing generator safety and efficiency in various industrial settings.

The CSQ-3 is a sophisticated multi-function synchroscope designed to integrate both synchroscope and check synchronizing relay functions. This device is microprocessor-controlled, ensuring precise and efficient performance in synchronizing generators and other power systems. The CSQ-3 is user-friendly with its pushbutton operation located behind a removable front cover, providing a safety feature by protecting operators from hazardous voltages during set point programming. This feature enhances safety standards because the synchroscope can be operated without needing to open switchboards.
