e-flox - Gas Burners

Biogas from AD fermenter or from landfills can be upgraded to replace natural gas in the gas grids or for transportation fuels. To produces the so called renewable natural gas (RNG) CO2 and eventually N2 has to be precipitated. Depending on the type of gas upgrading residual methan is part of the purg gas of the upgrading process. As methane has a high climate potential it mus be oxidized before emitting it to the atmosphere. Otherwise it would deteriorate the climate impact of the biogas upgrading process. E-flox developed tailor made plant to oxidize these gases, which are primarily used in combination with PSA (pressure swing absorption) and membrane type gas upgrading systems. Combusiton air and purge gas is preheated with flue gas heat prior to their injection into the combusiton chamber. Depending on the type of preheater differeant authtermal methane concentraitons can be reached.

Landfill Gas Combusiton Systems

Methane concentrations in landfill gases typically decline significantly when suction of gas in landfills is continued in due form after closure of the landfill. The desired or undesired aerobisation of the landfill is the reason for this decline. In practical operation this often leads to compromises in landfill gas management, as state of the art appliances (engines, flares) are limited to relatively high minimum CH4 concentrations in the landfill gas. This leads to an incomplete gas collection and undesired emissions from the landfill body. This is no longer necessary with the e-flox DGV process. This process allows the save and complete extraction of landfill gases and the continuous transformation of the landfill to aerobic digestion until the end of the active landfill gas management.

Syngas Combustion Systems

E-flox supplies tailormade combusiton systems for producer gas derivced from biomass or waste pyrolysis. Producer gas, commonly called syngas, synthesis gas or pyrolysis gas may be hot and dirty. With e-flox combustion systems expensive cleaning systems may become obsolete. We offer our combusiton systems in combination with different processes for heat recovery:

    Green Hydrogen from Biogas

Green Hydrogen from Biogas by steam reforming integrated in the container. Scalable biogas plants offer a base load capacity for hydrogen production. They are CO2-neutral or even have a negative CO2 balance if they use waste materials such as manure as feedstock for biogas. An efficiency of at least 60% allows very good use of the energy contained in the biogas. Electrolysis plants only achieve an efficiency of 20% when using biogas (cogeneration). With this improvement, bioenergy can be a step in the energy transition to a hydrogen economy.
