Model SUEZ - Waste Collector
Waste collector SUEZ will use two hydrogen refuse trucks from E-Trucks Europe this year for waste collection in the municipalities of Asten, Deurne, Gemert-Bakel, Helmond, Laarbeek, Nuenen, Someren and Heeze-Leende. Richard Bierhuizen from SUEZ shows; “Sustainability is at the forefront of all our activities, from collecting waste. Collecting without emissions is a logical step here ”. (Source: Afvalgids.nl). The construction and demonstration of the two refuse trucks is supported by the European Union within the REVIVE project (Horizon 2020 program).
Municipality Groningen
The municipality of Groningen was the first European municipality to put a hydrogen-prepared garbage truck from E-Trucks Europe into use in 2017. Groningen thinks hydrogen is THE solution to make its city center emission-free. The hydrogen vehicles can hit the road thanks to the purchase of a new hydrogen filling point, which means a truck has enough hydrogen on board for about five refueling sessions. A hydrogen truck doesn’t emit any CO2 or other harmful substances and is therefore perfectly in line with the goal of the municipality of Groningen to work completely energy neutral by 2035.
