Polycrystalline (multicrystalline) solar panels are the most common, because they are cheaper than monocrystalline solar panels. The reason is in the way of silicon producing. Polycrystalline solar panels are made from the same material – silicon, but instead if growing silicon in monocrystal it is fused and crystallized. As polycrystalline cells contain many crystals, they have less perfect surface than monocrystalline cells. They absorb less solar energy and produce a little less electrical power per square meter. They have higher efficiency than thin-film solar panels.

Today in Ukraine the problem of power production using the alternative power sources becomes of current importance. Monocrystalline solar panels are the most common nowadays because they have high efficiency. Certainly this factor accelerates the payback of equipment and power storage as well. Monocrystalline solar panels excel polycrystalline ones and are the most reliable in obtaining of solar power. As a rule, solar panels are covered with protective glass, which helps to protect a panel from the damages. In monocrystalline solar panels every photovoltaic module consists of silicon monocrystal and is more efficient though more expensive than polycrystalline or thin-film cells.
