Flexible Energy Management Services

Flexible Energy Management is all about providing you with a part-time or full-time Energy Manager to solve your energy efficiency issues, without you having to go through the burden of recruiting or keeping an additional member of staff on your books. A consultant will arrange an initial consultation to find out the level of involvement you are looking for, and the energy saving goals you have for your organisation, be them money saving, the need to meet legal requirements, or a complete corporate make over. They will then set about using their extensive experience to help you achieve your goals over the period agreed with you.

Energy Competitions Services

Energise has experience in developing innovative and exciting competition and incentive schemes which can be adapted to focus on any areas of particular concern to your business. By providing a material or financial incentive to your employees, you can help to drive energy efficiency practices from within your organisation. The savings achieved through the implementation of an incentive scheme will normally outweigh the costs involved in providing the prizes.

CRC Management Services

The Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Energy Efficiency Scheme is a UK based emissions trading scheme that will apply to all non-energy intensive organisations using more than 6,000 MWh electricity per annum through half hourly meters. This is expected to be around 5,000 organisations. Additionally, all organisations which have a half hourly meter but consume under 6,000 MWh electricity per annum through that meter will still be required to provide information to the administrators (The Environment Agency). The number of organisations estimated to be around 20,000. The 3 year introductory phase of the scheme comes into effect in April 2010 and qualification is based on half-hourly electricity consumption during 2008.

Energy Certificates

Display Energy Certificates are required for public buildings with a total useful floor area over 1000m2 occupied by public authorities or by institutions providing public services to a large number of persons and therefore frequently visited by those persons. The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations requires all qualifying buildings to display to the public an A3 certificate indicating the energy performance of the operation of the building. Advisory Reports (ARs) are also issued to provide guidance on areas for improving the energy performance of the building. Display Energy Certificates must be renewed annually; Advisory Reports have a validity of 7 years.

Renewables Advice Services

Renewable technologies are an inseparable part of UK Government’s commitment to reaching its energy reduction targets. The target set out in the government Renewable Energy Strategy is to reach 15% of energy from renewable sources by 2020. In part, these targets will be reached using large scale renewables ‘farms’, such as the offshore wind farms in the North Sea. The UK could have 20,000MW of offshore wind generation capacity by 2020, equivalent to 17 per cent of UK supply. However, Government is also supporting the use of micro-generation (small scale energy generation on site) in new builds and major refurbishments. Not only will this help to lower carbon emissions, it will also allow organisations greater control over their energy use. At a time when the future of fossil fuels is uncertain, there’s a lot to be said for taking advantage of the predictability that on site renewables provide.
