Natural gas CHP from enertec generate electricity and heat where it is needed. Due to the high efficiency of the CHP and the elimination of transmission losses in the power grid, the fossil fuel natural gas is used optimally. In biogas plants, plant or animal material is broken down with the help of bacteria in the absence of oxygen (anaerobic), producing biogas. Depending on the material used, the bacteria produce biogas with a methane content of 50 to 75%. This can be used to generate electricity and heat directly on site in a combined heat and power plant, or it can be prepared for natural gas quality and fed into the natural gas network. The digestate generated during the dismantling can usually be used as fertilizer in agriculture.
