TransZyme A is comprised of a lipase enzyme of high transesterification and esterification activity. It transforms all types of glycerides (tri-, di- and mono-glycerides) and FFAs in the presence of methanol (or another n-alcohol) to fatty acid methyl esters (biodiesel), and glycerol and water as byproducts. The biocatalyst beads are provided dry and are ready-to-use.

EnzymoCore’s major technology breakthrough is the development of modified-immobilized enzymes, characterized with their high resistance to methanol. Thus, these enzymes can be used for the production of biodiesel at commercial scales using any type of feedstock (FFAs 0-100%).
