The Radius Mote uses unlicensed wireless spectrum to seamlessly connect SDI‐12 sensors to a central Radius Gateway over long distances—up to 15 km (9.3 miles), and up to 60 km (37 miles) using Radius Repeaters. Radius networks incorporate advanced low power, long range wireless technologies with proprietary mechanical engineering, power management and power supply to eliminate the need for expensive supporting infrastructure (large batteries, solar panels, enclosures, cables). By eliminating this infrastructure as well as the need for a data logger and communications uplink at each sensor site, the cost of the entire sensor network is reduced dramatically.

The Radius Repeater uses unlicensed wireless spectrum to extend the range of a Radius Mote so it can be located up to 15km farther away from a central Radius Gateway. Radius networks incorporate advanced low power, long range wireless technologies with proprietary mechanical engineering, power management and power supply to eliminate the need for expensive supporting infrastructure (large batteries, solar panels, enclosures, cables). By eliminating this infrastructure as well as the need for a data logger and communications uplink at each sensor site, the cost of the entire sensor network is reduced dramatically.

The Gateway is the central hub of a Radius network. Radius networks incorporate advanced low power, long range wireless technologies with proprietary mechanical engineering, power management and power supply to eliminate the need for expensive supporting infrastructure (large batteries, solar panels, enclosures, cables). By eliminating this infrastructure as well as the need for a data logger and communications uplink at each sensor site, the cost of the entire sensor network is reduced dramatically.

Xo is a complete monitoring station platform. It includes all hardware, software and services needed for data acquisition, cloud-based data storage, viewing and analysis. It makes any sensor data easily accessible and the station remotely congurable. Just add sensors.

In addition, it also features Radius LPWAN (Low-Power, Wide-Area Network) technology, functioning as a Radius Gateway in an SDI-12 wireless network. The Orbit Xo Radius will collect data from sensors directly connected to it and act as a data hub for all SDI-12 sensors (connected to Radius Motes) in an LPWAN network. All data collected is automatically forwarded to the cloud via a cellular connection This eliminates the need to buy both a Gateway for your LPWAN network and a separate cellular uplink.
