Exergy - Waste Heat Recovery Power Units

High-temperature waste heat can become a renewable source of energy. The non-flammable working fluid makes Exergy EP products perfect for any industrial application from 500 to 2000 kWe and the Enhanced Recovery System (ERS) helps you extract the maximum amount of heat from your flue gas. Thanks to the radial outflow turbine, the superheated cycle and the hairpin evaporator efficiency is almost constant at partial load, following flexibly your production. If you do not want to take care of anything but your business you can choose outdoor installation and direct air cooled condensing: the ORC will need nothing but warm oil to produce power.

Exergy - Combined Heat and Power Units

Where there is a need for thermal power at medium temperature, the H&P series is the most efficient solution for combined heat & power production, from 500 to 2200 kWe.  Thanks to the radial outflow turbine, the superheated cycle and the hairpin evaporator efficiency is almost constant at partial load: an innovation for the combined heat and power applications, that need very flexible machines to follow the heat user load curve.

Exergy - Geothermal Binary Units

Exergy designs and supplies Organic Rankine cycle binary plants for geothermal resources. The first and only radial outflow turbine working with an organic fluid gives outstanding performance and flexibility. The availability of products using flammable or non-flammable working fluids and synchronous or induction generator assures the best performance of Exergy ORC modules. These are available from small modular unit of 1 MWe up to tailored power plants with turbines of 20 MWe each.

Exergy - Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) System

When the enthalpy level of your heat source is not enough or the size of the application is too small for a steam power plant, the organic Rankine cycle is the best solution for you. The organic Rankine cycle has a plant configuration similar to that of the traditional steam Rankine cycle. The thermodynamic principle at its basis is the same, but its advantages are based on the differing thermodynamic properties of the single organic fluid, that can be chosen to fit best the available heat source, thus obtaining higher efficiencies.

Exergy - Radial Outflow Turbine

The radial outflow turbine designed and produced by Exergy is unique in the ORC market. From an inspiration in the 2010 we reinvented this technology and for the first time we took it to compete in the ORC field with the well-known axial and radial inflow configurations. This type of turbine has been used since late nineteenth century in traditional steam Rankine, known as Ljungstrom, Parsons or Siemens turbine, but suffered the competition of axial turbines due to technological issues that have been easily overcome in the ORC application; The radial outflow turbine is capable of processing low enthalpy drop on a single stage, thus when it is applied to a steam Rankine cycle tens of stages and multiple disks are needed. On the other hand this technology is optimal for the organic Rankine cycle, as through a limited number of stages on the same disk the turbine can process the entire available enthalpy drop.
