The patent holder to Hastelloy, Haynes Corporation, comments that Hastelloy can be considered to have superceded both Inconel and Incoloy for most petrochemical processes. Hastelloy is suitable for extreme temperatures and is highly resistant to crevice corrosion. The alloy comes in many grades, as reflected in the table below.
