In BESS application fuses remain one of the safest protection solutions once everything else has failed. FaulTrap developed and manufactures fuses specially designed for battery racks and banks up to 1500VDC with available fault currents up to 250kA in class “a” protecting against large short circuits closed to battery systems and “g” to protect the line not next to the battery systems.

FaulTrap provides fuse links specially designed to give long term reliability in the protection of rolling stocks and rail infrastructures. They are suitable for protecting main power systems in AC or DC, main electrical feeds, third rail shoes, power conversion equipment, auxiliary systems, instrumentation, control, lighting, heating, or air conditioning, either in class “g” or “a”.

FaulTrap Fast-acting and Time-delay industrial power fuses serve numerous applications. Made with composite body, they provide no damage protection to main, feeders and branch circuits, providing superior current-limiting ability with IR up to 200kA Sym. They are available in different body sizes, each size having multiple worldwide acceptable mounting styles allowing their use with fuse blocks and holders classes J and L. Time-delay characteristics are ideal for handling typical motor and transformer inrush currents.

FaulTrap`s line of photovoltaic fuses is specifically designed to protect PV systems, solar panels, combiner boxes and recombiner units up to 1500VDC. They are suitable for the temperatures and current cycling of PV systems and provide safe circuit interruption under typical low fault current condition. They are available in different body sizes, each size having multiple worldwide acceptable mounting styles allowing their use with fuse blocks, holders and with in-line harnesses.

Fuses are the only devices available to protect sensitive power semiconductor devices. FaulTrap optimized design and materials allow for the best control of arcing characteristics for a lower I²t and high interrupting rating level. They are available as aR, gR and gS operating classes, in a wide choice of current, voltage rating and formats suitable for bolt-on busbars or on fuse blocks, holders or switches.
