The drawings, relating to BURNER FRONT HARDWARE, show some mounting and retract aspects.  A few of these designs go back to the `60`s and are still sold today.  Others are NEW and Support our CoronaArc ® Ignition System as well as a range of evironmental conditions including NEMA 4x and Explosion Proof requirements.

Since 1966 we have been manufacturing the “PowerArc” Ignitor and, over the years, have supported the many customers using this hardware.  Today, the PowerArc Ignitor is one of a number of commonly available products called `Direct Energy Ignitors` that all need a specially “coated” sparkplug.

12 JOULE, RAPID FIRE: Produces 12-15 pulses per second at 600 watts.  Designed for the most challenging Heavy Fuel Oil applications.  The combination of the `intense rate of Arcs` and the `high efficiency of each Arc` can actually sustain a difficult burner by keeping it partially lit until it can completely light itself.  for such an `Emersion Ignition` situation, one needs to eventually retract the electrode. 

12 JOULE, STANDARD-FIRE: Produces 4-6 pulses per second at 300 watts.  Designed for relatively volatile `Heavy Fuel Oil` applications or `sooted or fly-ash` covered Fuel Ignitors.  Same 12 Joule Arc Energy as Rapid Fire only more economical. 

12 JOULE: Produces 4-6 pulses per second at 200 watts.  Desgineed for Ignition of #2 Oil Main Burners or Gas/Oil Fuel Ignitors.  Useful on many non-retract applications.  Uses same ignition electrode as 12 Joule units or works with compact 3/8" Dia. Probes.  Special gas and “Flare Stack” models available. 

The Frederick Cowan Products by ICI Direct ignition high energy ignitors are a highly reliable and economical method of light your main burner fuel oil, natural gas and coal burner light oil gun. 12 Joule Direct ignition high energy ignitors ( “Class 3 Special” Ignitors in NFPA 85) do not require a special fuel train. They are powered by single phase 240 VAC (120 VAC), 500VA and can be supply with a retract assembly or designed with a fixed position. There are two (2) major components which consist of the 12 joule power pack and spark probe. Retract assembly would be the third component, if required. The spark probe is rated for 10,000/15 second cycles, and is replaceable. Our surface gap spark probes are rated for 1200 F (649 C) and are self-cleaning. The spark probe will spark 4-10 sparks per second. Two of the Frederick Cowan Products by ICI models are FM approved.
