GasHub - Membrane Electrode Assemblies

DuPont’s Membrane Electrode Assemblies (MEAs) are available for Direct Methanol (DM) applications in a 3 layer configuration (MEA3), with appropriate Electrodes on each side of optimised Nafion PFSA Membrane. Sandwiched between two pieces of black carbon paper, the Nafion membrane forms the main reaction site. The MEA functions like a simple battery cell. Stacks of MEA are connected by the graphite bipolar plates. A fuel cell stack is a stack of MEA (cell) connected in series with graphite bipolar plates in between. MEA3 is fabricated to specific fuel cell operational and dimensional requirements based on customer’s provided details of the dimensions. GasHub is the authorised dealer for DuPont’s MEAs.

DuPont’s XL Membrane Electrode Assemblies (MEAs) are based on a new extended life reinforced membrane that combines the advantages of mechanical reinforcement with enhanced chemical stability, enabling improved membrane durability. The improvement is a result of an advanced stabilisation system that increases mechanical strength and provides resistance to peroxide attack, which leads to an superior membrane life and performance. Available in 3-layer MEA (MEA3) and 5-layer MEA (MEA5) that comes with the gas diffusion layer,  the MEA can last 20 times longer in demanding load and humidity cycling applications. Metal hydride, formed when metal atoms bond with hydrogen to form stable compounds, are ideal mediums for portable hydrogen fuel storage. Metal hydrides are extremely well suited for use in consumer products requiring safety and ease of operation. Refueling can be simply performed by replacing a small hydrogen metal hydride canister.
