The primary and secondary windings of oil transformers are made from aluminium and/or copper with pure cellulose paper conductor insulation, or double enamel insulation for small diameter wires. These windings have an oval or circular cross-section, are concentric and coaxial with the core columns.

GBE produces single-phase and three-phase transformers with air insulation, with rectangular cross-section up to 1000 kVA and circular cross-section for higher powers. The product offered is intended for the low voltage distribution market, especially for special applications, specific operating classes for converters and all types of installation: marine, offshore and onshore, mining, wind power and more.

GBE provides cast resin transformers with powers up to 30 MVA and voltages up to 52 kV, with no-load or on-load switching. The constructional design used for a power transformers is completely different from that used for distribution transformers. Considerable masses are involved, and during the design stage it is necessary to take into account not just mechanical and electrical issues, but also those related to material expansion during operation.

GBE supplies oil power transformers up to 50 MVA and voltages up to 145kV (BIL 650), with no-load or on-load switching. The switch can be either external or internal. Oil power transformers are made with constructional and design criteria that ensure the highest operational reliability and great electrodynamic performance, while guaranteeing excellent insulation against mains overvoltages.
