Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC ) Past Events

Nov. 28-30, 2017 Amsterdam

WindEurope’s conference and exhibition will be held from 28-30 November in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. WindEurope Conference 2017 will feature around 35 sessions over three full days. In response to requests from participants to shorten the event, this will be the first edition of three days in length, as opposed to three-and-a-half as in previous years. The conference will open with high-level politicians and C-level industry leaders debating industry trends and outlook. This will be followed by a comprehensive programme of parallel session featuring general and scientific presentations relating to onshore and offshore wind energy on the topics listed below.

Nov. 14-16, 2017 Cape Town

Windaba Conference and Exhibition is the largest wind energy conference on the African continent bringing together some 600 international and domestic decision makers and stakeholders that are active in the region’s wind industry. This year, the 7th edition of Windaba will have as its theme ‘Wind Power: Building Futures’. Windaba is organised annually by SAWEA in proud partnership with the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), and will take place at the  Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC)  on 15-16 November 2017.

Oct. 17-19, 2017 Beijing

China Wind Power (CWP) is one of the most influential events in the wind industry. The event is co-organized by five leading organizations: Chinese Wind Energy Association (CWEA), Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA), Global Wind Energy
Council (GWEC), China National Renewable Energy Centre (CNREC) and China Wind Energy Equipment Association (CWEEA).  The event has hosted 9 editions since its debut in 2008.

Sep. 1-3, 2015 Rio De Janeiro

Wind energy is the fastest growing source of power generation in Brazil. Over the next few years,  wind energy will contribute to the generation of more than 19,000 jobs, R$ 6 billion in investments, 2.7 million homes supplied and 1.3 million tons of CO2 avoided. In 2015, 113 new wind farms are under construction with a total capacity of 2.7 GW. Brazil Windpower, the largest wind energy event in Latin America, offers excellent business opportunities, in addition to conference programme sessions focused on issues relevant to the wind sector. In the last edition, the event attracted 2,207 participants, representing 804 companies, with 40 sponsors and 102 exhibitors.

Oct. 29-31, 2008 Beijing
Stemming from the success of WindPower Shanghai 2007, we are pleased to announce the dates for the 2008 event. Global WindPower 2008 will be the most important meeting place for companies working in wind energy in China. This is the only event in China supported by the Chinese Wind Energy Association and the Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association. The exhibition will have 14,000 square meters of exhibition space and include all of the world’s leading companies working in the wind industyr. The conference will be the only world-class conference taking place in China in 2008, with a prestigious speaker list and high-level delegates.
