GPM Hybrid PPC - Hybrid Power Plant Controller (HPPC) for Managing Power Distribution in Renewable Energy Systems
The GPM Hybrid Power Plant Controller (HPPC) is engineered to manage the active power distribution between photovoltaic (PV) plants and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). By integrating with the Power Plant Controller (PPC) system, it ensures compliance with grid regulations and transmission system operator (TSO) requirements. The HPPC architecture blends PPC software, facilitating operators to oversee multiple operational modes, allocate setpoints between PV and BESS, and monitor actual power flow. Its ability to meet grid specifications extends to third-party SCADA systems, as well as proprietary GPM SCADA and the standalone GPM HMI PPC web application, highlighting its adaptability. The hybrid control system prioritizes BESS, offering fast frequency response and coordinated BESS-PV management to sustain the setpoint at the Point of Interconnection (POI). Furthermore, it incorporates a battery management system that governs BESS operations by implementing limitations on charging and discharging based on State of Charge (SoC), ensuring balance within multi-BESS setups.

GPM PPC - Power Plant Controller
The GPM Power Plant Controller (PPC) is an advanced system designed to efficiently manage both real and reactive power in solar, wind, and diesel-hybrid plants. It integrates seamlessly with current and future power systems, facilitating communication with inverters, wind turbines, and other equipment from diverse manufacturers. It serves as the main governor and can be configured as a master controller for isolated power systems and as an interface for grid-connected plant integration. The PPC is capable of real power compensation using Energy Storage Systems and offers the necessary VAR support for flexible grid-connected plants. Its interface allows direct user control via a web-based HMI and quick interaction with multiple generation units. The system is grid compliant, featuring hot standby and redundancy to ensure reliable operations under various conditions. Specifically designed for plant technicians, asset owners, and control room operators, it supports active power, frequency, reactive power, and other essential controls.
