H2SITE - High-Purity Hydrogen Separation Membrane Technology
H2SITE has developed a unique membrane technology for efficient separation of high-purity hydrogen from various streams. Engineered after a decade of research and development, these membranes exhibit exceptional hydrogen permeation, coupled with high durability and resistance to contaminants. These features optimize their performance in renewable hydrogen production and separation processes, particularly for carriers like ammonia and methanol. The membrane's palladium-alloy dense layer ensures exclusive selectivity to hydrogen, facilitating superior energy hydrogen extraction from mixtures with natural gas, CO, or CO₂. Unlike traditional methods requiring additional separation equipment, these integrated membrane reactors simultaneously perform reaction and separation, leveraging Le Châtelier’s principle to enhance compactness and efficiency. Built in advanced facilities in Bizkaia, Spain, the membranes are produced at scale, significantly lowering conversion costs with high output. This technology maximizes hydrogen recovery and reduces production costs by shifting equilibrium to achieve near-total conversion of feedstock.
