Utility Flares

HeroFlare - Low Flow Flare

The HERO Low Flow Flare is specifically designed for low flow flare applications, or for those sites located in remote locations and do not have access to electric or pilot fuel gas. The most common application is flaring off low pressure tank vapors and remote wellheads.

HeroFlare - Enclosed Combustor Flare

Hero Flare offers an excellent alternative to elevated flares for those applications where an exposed flame is not desirable.  The Hero Enclosed Combustors are designed to provide a smokeless burn in accordance with the Quad O requirements.

HeroFlare - Low Pressure Air Assist Flare

HERO Flare is a leading supplier for providing proven Air Assist technology to achieve smokeless capacities. Low pressure air is an excellent method for smoke free combustion of heavier gas streams. The flare gas and blower air flow coaxially to the flare tip where they mix. The blower air provides a significant portion of the stoichiometric air required for combustion and generates sufficient mixing turbulence to eliminate smoke formation.

HeroFlare - Emergency Utility Flares

Utility Aares are the most economical Aare solution for those applications that do not require smokeless capacity, or for those applications where the waste gas will burn smokeless without the need for smokeless Aare technology Utility Aare technology is commonly used for emergency release cases as a back-up in the event an upset condition occurs and the gas is directed to the Aare.

The flare ignition system is one of the most critical components on any flare system to ensure the flare gas is ignited under any conditions. HERO offers the best available flare pilot technologies to meet your specific application. With thousands of pilots in service, our Hotspot Ignition Systemâ„¢ utilizes the most reliable ignition probe technology to ensure reliable performance you can count on. The Hotspot pilot can be installed on new or existing flare stacks. For rare applications, the Flame Front Generator (FFG) pilot may be a more suitable choice. Use our "Pilot Selection Guide" below to determine the best pilot ignition technology for your application. ALL of the HERO ignition systems can by provided with AC or Solar power and operate with either Natural Gas or Propane.

The Hero Flare Enclosed Vapor Combustors are an effective, efficient and economical alternative to achieving compliance with Guad-0 EPA regulations. As an industry flare/combustor leader Hero offers more Guad-0 EPA listed compliant combustors models than any other company Our combustors are designed to destruct VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and other vapors produced from oil storage vessels. The low pressure, high efficiency burner assemblies in the Hero model line destruct tank vapors at a >98.o% rate, while allowing continuous depressurization of storage vessels. Hero`s combustors are safe to operate, reliable and EPA compliant......making them an ideal solution for those applications requiring no visible flames.

Sonic Flares

Sonic flares are a unique type of high pressure flare tip. A sonic flare uses the flare gas pressure to eliminate smoke, lower flame radiation and shorten the flame length. Sonic flares can reduce capital costs with lower stack heights and a smaller flare header size.

High Pressure Air or Gas Flare

When steam or electric is not available on-site, our high pressure gas assist or air assist technologies are viable options to achieve smokeless capacity.  This technology can also be used to retrofit an existing flare stack that is experiencing smoke formation and outside of the environmental compliance regulations.

Pilot and Ignitions Systems

Flame Front Generators

Flame Front Generators are a traditional method of lighting flare pilots. An FFG panel mixes plant air and fuel gas into an ignition chamber. A spark plug ignites the mixture. The `flame front` travels through a 1` pipe to flare pilot.

Process Equipment

For most flare applications, it is critical that all liquid be removed from the waste gas prior to being sent to the flare. Hero provides complete liquid knockout systems that range from small low flow manual dump systems to a fully automated liquid level control system.
