Kaplan Turbines
Hydrohrom - Semi Kaplan Turbine
Regulation of the runner with runner blades fixed. Is the most frequently used machine for newly constructed small head hydropower plants. It is also used in the renovation of older plants originally equipped with vertical Francis turbines, which often achieves a better flow usage. The advantage is the low cost of the equipment. Installation is ether with a drive belt or directly connected to the generator. To shutdown of the turbine gravitational plate closing on the input is used.
Hydrohrom - Kaplan Turbine
Runner and guide wheel regulation. Used primarily at heads from 3,5m. Offers better machine efficiency which is achieved by relative motion of vanes and blades. Guide wheel performs the function of both operational and closure system whichis controlled by gravity or hydraulic pressure accumulator. Installation is almost exclusively with a direct connection to the generator.
Hydrohrom - Vertical Kaplan Turbine
Runner and guide wheel regulation. Designed as a monoblock, and is used primarily in reconstructions of older plants. Guide wheel performs the function of both the operational and closure system which is controlled by gravity or hydraulic pressure accumulator. Installation is either with transfer belt or with a direct connection to the generator.
Hydrohrom - Spiral Type Kaplan Turbine
Control of the impeller and diffuser. Constructed as a monoblock and can be used in both vertical and horizontal versions. The guide wheel performs the function of operational closure and the system is contrlled by gravity or hydrualic pressure accumulator. Installation is almost exclusively a direct connection to the generator.
Hydrohrom - Kaplan Turbine
Runner and guide wheel regulation. Designed as a monoblock and is used primarily in reconstruction of older plants. The guide wheel performs the function of both the operational and closure system solved by pressure accumulator. Installation is only with direct connection to the generator. Turbines are controlled by the PLC control system and the mechanical part is controlled by hydraulics.

They are designed for heads from 20 up to 100 m. With both horizontal or vertical shaft arrangement and only with direct connection to the generator. Turbine either has its own shaft support, or the runner is directly on the shaft of generator.
