Ibereólica Group has its own engineering centres for research and technological development. Our engineering centres specialise in each one of the technologies used in our facilities, improving our use of resources and ensuring ongoing maintenance of our facilities. The objective of our engineering services is to develop the potential of renewable energy sources. One of the activities undertaken by our centres is to implement pilot projects aimed at creating or expanding infrastructure and tools for developing new facilities. This pre-testing means higher levels of safety when innovations are introduced.

The sun, one of the most efficient natural power sources. The technologies which use the sun as a natural source of energy for producing electrical power have been constantly developing over the years. Today, amongst all the existing options, Ibereólica Group backs solar thermal technology.

Wind, an inexhaustible source for electricity production. Ibereólica Group is one of the world?s largest producers of electricity using wind as a natural power source. Our knowledge and experience in this area has enabled us continuously to improve the efficiency of our facilities. A key factor which sets us apart in our sector is the fact that we have our own facilities maintenance teams. This means that we can address any incident extremely quickly, so wind turbine stoppage times are lower and our production capacity is higher. The Ibereólica Group is a leader in wind projects authorized in Chile.

The power of water: Our first projects used the power of water to generate electricity in hydroelectric power plants. The knowledge and experience we have garnered over the years allows us to participate in projects in Latin America (Chile, Peru and Brasil).
