Fuel cells provide clean energy. A fuel cell is actually just an electrochemical device that is able to convert hydrogen into electricity and heat, using only a catalyst and oxygen. Water is the only by-product, making fuel cells not only environmentally friendly, but also very efficient. In many ways, fuel cells are just like ordinary batteries. But when an ordinary battery runs dead and needs to be recharged, the fuel cell just keeps on running as long as either hydrogen or methanol is added to the cell.
