JGC - Advanced Auto Thermal Gasification Technology

By converting natural gas into highly reactive synthesis gas mainly composed of carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen (H2) by means of reforming technology, this synthesis gas can be used as a feed source to produce not only various kinds of chemical products but also environment-friendly, oil-alternative fuels, such as methanol, dimethyl ether (DME), and GTL diesel oil. The Advanced Auto Thermal Gasification (AATG®) Process is a synthesis gas production technology which has been developed based on an entirely new concept in the pursuit of this aim. JGC has been executing this technology development jointly with Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. under the auspices of the Japan Oil, Gas, and Metals National Corporation and has recently succeeded in a continuous operation test using a pilot plant which has a synthesis gas production capacity (2,000 Nm3/hr) corresponding to 65 barrels per day in terms of GTL.

JGC - Integrated Hydrogen Desulfurization System for Refinery

JUST Refinery (JGC Unitized Smart Tailored Refinery) is a stand-alone refinery concept which, by employing new technologies, enables a 30 % reduction of CAPEX over conventional refineries with similar functions, thereby improving the IRR by 5 %. Whereas conventional refineries need multiple hydrogen desulfurization systems for each fraction (naphtha, kerosene, gas oil), the JUST® Refinery has integrated the hydrogen desulfurization systems into a single system for the combined stream.

JGC - Gas Oil Ultra-Deep Desulfurization Process Technology

This is a process for producing an ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel through hydrodesulfurization reactions, where the sulfur content is reduced to less than 10 ppm by regulation. JGC has realized an optimal and economical design for not only new but also existing unit of diesel hydrotreating process, based on our accumulated know-how for construction of hydrotreating units and extensive data gained from pilot and commercial units for desulfurization.
