KBR - Power Capacitors

Power capacitors for reactive current compensation in single-phase and 3-phase versions, developed for the highest requirements. Apart from a long operating life and high current and voltageload capacity, safety in case of overload (all-pole overpressure disconnector) is a crucial advantage of the compact dry technology components. Other features are good heat dissipation, low self-heating as well as reliable performance at high ambient temperatures.

KBR - Filter Reactor

To prevent resonance phenomena caused by harmonic content in the power supply system, filter circuit reactors are required to set up detuned compensation systems. Here, high linearities guarantee the necessary functional stability even in the overload range.

KBR - Reactive Power Controllers

The multicomp D6 reactive power controller works automatically in 4-quadrant operation (generator operation), i.e. even during energy recovery to the energy provider network, missing compensation power is easily detected and compensated. Through the integrated temperature measurement input, the ambient temperature in the reactive power compensation system is also monitored and if a predefined limit temperature is exceeded, the fan is switched on. The multicomp D6 reactive power controller also has an interface for connection to the KBR eBus, whereby all settings can be conveniently carried out from the PC (without the display module). In addition, the bus communication can be switched from KBR eBus to Modbus RTU/ASCII.

KBR - Reactive Power Controllers

The microcontroller-controlled multicomp F144-xxx-3 records all network data relevant to the control of small systems via A/D transformer inputs. After calculating the required compensation power to achieve the desired target cos φ, the available capacitor stages are automatically switched on or off with a few switching operations. Programming is menu-assisted and is performed with two buttons. System-specific values are stored in a non-volatile memory. Each stage can be switched individually via the built-in manual-0-automatic function.

The multicomp F144-3Ph-…-3 reactive power controller automatically works in 4-quadrant operation (generator operation), i.e. even with return feed into the energy supplier network, missing compensation power is detected and compensated without any problem. Through the integrated temperature measurement input, the ambient temperature in the reactive power compensation unit is also monitored, and if a predefined limiting temperature is exceeded, the ventilator is switched on. Through the three-phase recording of voltage and current, not only the usual three-phase compensation is possible, but also single-phase compensation or a combination of single-phase and three-phase compensation.

KBR - Active Harmonic Filter

Multiwave active significantly increases operational safety The loads in industrial networks are increasingly dominated by a large number of small and large converters. In this context, two effects can be observed. Due to the falling number of motors operated directly on the grid, the need for inductive fundamental reactive power is decreasing. At the same time, harmonic currents are increased. The impedance of the network transformer plays a decisive role. A large part of the harmonic voltage is created here, leading to faults in all consumers. This results in unreliable operation of the devices and an increased number of malfunctions. KBR offers active harmonics filters as a solution. The multiwave active eliminates harmonics up to the 50th harmonic. The filter improves voltage quality, significantly increasing operational safety.

KBR - Multiwave Passive Harmonic Filter

The load on industrial networks is more and more dominated by a high number of smaller and larger converters. They are used when purchasing new machines or when modifying present machines in order to increase energy effiency. The demand for inductive reactive power of fundamental harmonics decreases due to the reduction of motors operated directly on the mains and the reactive power which is generated by the converters’ harmonic currents increases. The power transformer’s impedance is a key factor, as this is where the major part of the harmonic voltages is generated, which in turn is responsible for faults at other consumer loads. KBR’s harmonic filters of the multiwave product group are the solution. Here, the passive version as a tuned filter circuit system is completely new. multiwave passive was developed especially for mains which show a high proportion of 5th and 7th harmonics, typical harmonic systems of industrial networks.
