The overhead traveling cranes are equipped with a trolley and a single-drum hoist unit. The grab is suspended using suspension chains on 4 parallel single ropes. This stabilises the grab and protects it from rotating. This approach also minimises damage to the cable reeling drum, increases operating safety, and facilitates maintenance due to the lower rope weight. It is now standard for all motor grabs to come with monitoring tools for control, such as motor temperature.

The overhead traveling cranes are equipped with a clutchless trolley and a double-drum hoist unit for the holding and closing rope. The grab is suspended using suspension chains on 2 parallel individual ropes and guided via the two parallel ropes. The rope grab is equipped with an electronic closing path measurement unit and guarantees high-precision handling. The synchronisation of the hoist and closing drum developed by KW Kranwerke and perfected over the years ensures smooth operation of the crane system.
