Lydall - Acrylic Homopolymer Fiber

Acrylic normally refers to homopolymer products in this industry, but there are small amounts of copolymer used where the conditions are less arduous and price is an important consideration. It is a medium temperature fiber, up to 120°C continuous, and has good chemical resistance as its structure imparts resistance to hydrolysis.  It is commonly used in applications with high moisture exposure and is also available in blended products for reduced cost.

Lydall - High Temperature Fiber

PPS is a high temperature fiber, up to 180°C, with excellent chemical resistance except for oxidizing agents such as NO2 and Oxygen itself. It has very good acid resistance and this, together with a good thermal resistance has led to wide acceptance in combustion processes. The fiber is actually 30% sulfur by weight and it has a very high limiting oxygen index (34) when compared with the volume fibers.

Lydall - Thermal Resistant PTFE Fiber

PTFE is the `ultimate` regular fiber as it has outstanding chemical and thermal resistance, with the right chemistry, it will operate up to  250°C. Two forms of the fiber are used in filtration applications: Brown - which is very much like a traditional textile fiber in appearance was the original PTFE fiber sold as Teflon. White - which is actually ribbon like in nature is rapidly supplanting brown due to its collection efficiency and greater cost effectiveness.
