Cable Assemblies
Custom cable assemblies typically include a collection of fiber optic and/or copper cables (and may also include power cables), with connectors attached at one or both ends. As a custom cable assembly manufacturer, NAI builds fiber optic cable assemblies, copper cable assemblies, and hybrid assemblies, all of which are used to interconnect different types of equipment and instruments. Custom cable assemblies can include fan-outs, breakouts, patch cords, cordage, cable extenders and more. They are often used in industrial, telecom, medical, and aerospace applications for data, audio/video or power applications. AT NAI, cable conductors can be connected to terminal blocks, and housed in an enclosure. Often referred to as a “box build,” this assembly construction provides easier installation and protects the connections from adverse environmental conditions.
Pre-Terminated Fiber Optic-Cable Assemblies
NAI customers often require pre-terminated fiber optic cable assemblies, ruggedized for easier and faster installation, saving valuable time for installers. The pre-terminated fiber optic cable ends are protected for shipping and installation. Choose Multimode or Single Mode for indoor or outdoor applications. NAI can provide trunk or jumper assemblies. NAI pre-terminated fiber optic cable assemblies are often used in the telecom industry for wireless applications, specifically cell tower wiring (Fiber To The Antenna or FTTA), when the cable length required for the project is uncertain. As a solution, NAI offers wooden cable reels with multiple cables, each pre-terminated at one end.
Hybrid Cable Assemblies
Assembly requirements often specify the use of power cables along with data cables (fiber optic or copper). NAI provides complete design and manufacturing services for hybrid cable assemblies and bundled assemblies. Hybrid cable assemblies typically include two or more cables of the same or different types covered by one overall jacket or sheath. For example, a hybrid assembly can include Cat. 3 and Cat. 5 mixed (copper) cables and connectors. Or, a hybrid cable assembly can include a mix of fiber optic and copper cables and connectors, and may also include power cables (typically blunt cut).
Electro Mechanical Design Assembly
For decades, many NAI customers have required a more complete custom interconnect solution – one incorporating terminal blocks, enclosures and panels, along with other devices and components. Today, NAI offers box build assembly and panel build assembly capabilities to design and manufacture just about any electro-mechanical unit you can imagine.
