The first turbines in the S6X series from Suzlon were manufactured in 2002 and eventually phased out in 2016. Today 3673.75 MW of total capacity of S62 and similar turbines (S64 and S70) is installed around the globe. S62 turbines feature an asynchronous generator with a SFS (Suzlon Flexi Slip) system. This enables the generator to run with a high slip and thus operate within a limited speed range. In combination with the pitch system this ensures an optimized energy performance within a wide wind rage with low loads.

Suzlon began manufacturing their S6X series wind turbines in 2002 and eventually phased out production in 2016. A cumulative capacity of 3673.75 MW is installed worldwide counting S64 and similar turbines like the S62 and S70. S64 turbines are built to deliver an optimum output in locations with low to medium wind speed regimes. The turbines are equipped with a dual-rating asynchronous generator which – in conjunction with the pitch system – makes excellent energy yields with proportionately low loads possible.

The S66 is part of Suzlon’s classic fleet of wind turbines. Production began in 2002 and the S66 was eventually phased out in 2016. During that period a total of 3673.75 MW capacity was installed globally (counting S66, S64 and similar turbines). Suzlon designed the S66 with a dual-rating asynchronous generator and a pitch system that makes the turbine capable of delivering an optimum energy yield within a wide wind range with proportionally low loads. Nordic Wind Technology offers two certified retrofit solutions for Suzlon S66 turbines: a MITA solution and a Bachmann solution.

S82 turbines contain an asynchronous generator with a SFS (Suzlon Flexi Slip) system enabling the generator to run with a high slip and operate within a restricted speed range. This – in combination with the pitch system – makes optimized energy performance within a wide wind range with low loads possible. The S82 is, however, especially effective in locations with moderate wind speed regimes.
