Ptolemeo - Axial Sunsets
PTOLEMEO SA has proceeded to the creation of the first Greek design and construction of a Ptolemeo intercontinental sun visor, aiming at the optimal exploitation of solar energy in photovoltaic parks, while a small version of a solar eclipse has been developed for individual applications. Ptolemeo is the first solar panel made in Greece in the market, and was already presented in 2006 at the Thessaloniki International Fair. It is characterized by its well-designed size, so that it gives optimal solutions for the park sizes that are implemented in Greece and by the double vaccination system for the lifting that gives a wide support base of four points and not only three points which is the easy solution of only one piston used by the competition, even for twice the size of a solar panel.
Ptolemeo - Single Axis Sunscreens
Given the need for low-altitude solar panels, Ptolemeo has completed and installed in several parks the new low-axis solar panel (only 2.40 meters). This solar panel, from the first company that designed and manufactured solar panels in Greece, is an extremely robust construction, which uses spatial network technology, as do the Ptolemeo cross-axis solar panels. The construction of the construction in the central mill of large diameter of Ptolemeo (similar to that used in the large Ptolemeo cross-axis solar panels), gives stability and operation without problems.
Ptolemeo - Photovoltaic Collectors System
PTOLEMEO SA cooperates with various companies abroad, such as ALEO (Germany), Solarwatt (Germany), Bioenergy (USA), Magesolar (Germany) etc., for the supply of Photovoltaic collectors. Collectors are selected who meet the specifications set by the company to maximize performance, in combination with the appropriate reversals of German companies.

PTOLEMEO SA, for photovoltaic park applications, supplies direct current converters to inverters from internationally recognized companies for reliability and quality, such as SMA and REFU.
Accumulators for Autonomous Photovoltaic Systems
PTOLEMEO SA cooperates with Sunlight and Exide (Sonnenschein) for the supply of batteries, depending on the application. It selects exclusively the models of the most advanced technology of these houses.

Ptolemeo - 1-Axis Solar Tracker for Photovoltaic Plants
The solar tracking system “Ptolemeo 1-Axis” follows automatically the azimuthal trajectory of the sun offering an increased energy yield up to 25%. The motion mechanism is driven by the most reliable way: Software using astronomical algorithm installed in a specially programmed PLC computes the precise position of the sun at any given moment as a function of time, date and latitude. Thus, the system is able to follow the sun independently of clouds or other weather conditions, artificial lighting etc. Its overall pay surface is 76m2. The space coverage dimensions are 13,3 X 12,2 m2. Each solar tracker may carry up to 46 solar panels of a standard dimension of i.e. 1660x998m2, mounted in three ranks of 11, 24 and 11 panels respectively. The total PV power of each tracker may reach 12,5kW with crystalline silicon panels of conventional technology.

Ptolemeo - Dual Axis Solar Trackers
The motion mechanism of the system is based on two axes. It follows automatically the sun`s azimuthal and polar movement maximizing solar radiation incidence and thus the electricity production by the photovoltaic panels. The system is driven by the most reliable way: Software using astronomical algorithm is employed to compute the precise position of the sun at any given moment as a function of time, date and latitude. In this way the system cannot be misled by weather conditions (clouds etc) or other interfering factors (artificial lighting etc.). During cloudy weather, it automatically sets itself at horizontal position in order to receive the maximum of the diffuse radiation, minimizing at the same time energy consumption.
Ptolemeo - 2-Axis Solar Tracker for Photovoltaic Plants
The motion mechanism is based on two axes. It follows automatically the sun’s azimuthal and polar movement maximizing solar radiation incidence and thus electricity production by the PV panels. The first tracking system to use a specially designed “space frame” (patented OBI 1006740) for the support of the solar panels. It gives unequaled robustness and reliability compared to any other solar tracker even at extreme weather conditions. Combines electromechanical motion for azimuthal rotation and hydraulic for tilt elevation. Not only one but two hydraulic cylinders are used, ensuring thus enhanced holding torque and especially wide, fourpoint (not only three-point) seating.
