In recent times we have returned to our hydro scheme roots (dating back to the 1950s) and expanded our portfolio with a number of hydro schemes, as well as the civils and balance of plant services for several wind farm developments. Our experience of working in outreach places throughout Scotland - along with our knowledge of heavy civil engineering in harsh environments– stands us in good stead for these types of contracts. We are also playing our part in the grid infrastructure improvements which are vital to the energy industry, undertaking civils work at substations throughout the country.

It is perhaps with this sector that RJ McLeod is most commonly associated and not surprisingly, given the contribution we have made to the construction and maintenance of Scotland`s roads network. As at home with the winding roads of the north west of the country as with the urban motorway network, our hallmark of flexibility and variety is well demonstrated within the portfolio of roads contracts undertaken. Working for Transport Scotland, local authorities and trunk road management companies, we have adapted to an increasing variety of contract form ranging from traditionally procured to lump sum design and build construction.
