Refinery

Samsung Engineering has reached top tier status in the global refinery market as the contractor of choice by major national oil companies such as Saudi Aramco, ADNOC and SATORP. After earning our reputation based on successful completion of refinery projects in Asia and Mexico, we entered the Middle East market with the Saudi Aramco DHT project in 2007. By exceeding client expectations in this highly competitive market, the company reached a historic turning point. By 2009 we were awarded key mega projects over 1 billion USD in contract value and made further expansions into the Middle East and North Africa market such as the SATORP Jubail Industrial Complex in Saudi Arabia, the TAKREER Ruwais refinery in the UAE, and the SONATRACH Skikda refinery in Algeria. Evidence of our diversified product portfolio is the Ultra-low Sulphur Diesel Production plant project from PETROTRIN in the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago.

Petrochemical

Samsung Engineering has secured a strong reputation based on its petrochemical plant projects that consistently demonstrated superior quality and an effort to finish projects earlier than scheduled. Our expertise dates back to the 1970’s when large petrochemical complexes were completed for major Korean companies in Korea. By the 1990’s we made the shift into the global petrochemical market, in regions such as Asia and the Middle East. Upon the successful completion of notable mega-projects such as the APPC PDH/PP plant, TASNEE ethylene plant, SHARQ EG plant and MA’ADEN ammonia projects, we solidified our status as a top tier EPC contractor in the region. Within a span of one year from 2009 to 2010, we were awarded 5 projects in the UAE with a total contract volume of 7.1 billion USD from our partner ADNOC. We aim to continue this growth momentum and prove our reliability in other markets such as North Africa, Australia and Russia.

Power

Samsung Engineering’s excellent performance of winning and executing projects in home and abroad is based on the company’s extensive experience in the power industry, and successful partnerships with leading companies. Our company has excellent track records of building various power plants around the globe. In 2010, Samsung Engineering has expanded its overseas market by winning the combined cycle power plant from the CFE (Commission Federal de Electricidad) of Mexico. Our company is actively adding more experts in the power industry to deliver a wider range of services including 500MW-class power plants in the future. Samsung Engineering also seeks to further advance into strategic markets and diversify its portfolio to include the IPP sector projects as well as the IWPP, IGCC, renewable energy, and power transmission and distribution market.
