Measuring Module for Cell Voltage Monitoring (CVM)

The CVM G5S module was specially developed for cell voltage monitoring in series production vehicles. The performance features are limited to the range of functions actually required in series production. At the same time, the single-board solution offers high robustness in long-term operation and a production volume relative cost advantage.

The G6S CVM solution was specially developed for cell voltage monitoring in series applications. It is scalable, allowing both single cell measurements and voltage measurements across two or four cells. The measurement modules are supplemented by a target market-specific head module, which is equipped with the data interfaces prevalent in the respective target market. The head module also offers additional functions, such as measuring the total stack voltage to check the plausibility of the individual values.

Measuring Module for Cell Voltage Monitoring (CVM)

The CVM measurement modules for precise cell voltage measurement on fuel cells, batteries and electrolyzers have proven themselves hundreds of times and deliver reliable measurement results even in harsh field conditions. Thanks to a variety of interfaces, they can be used excellently with common PC systems as well as in embedded systems. For processing the measurement signals and combining them with other modules of the MCM family, process modules are available that allow PC-independent signal processing up to free programmability via scripting.

The CVM systems with MASTER feature comprehensive functionalities and high-speed data transmission and processing. A complete system consists of the number of CVM G5 measuring modules required for the respective application, a bus module, a termination module and a process module. Adding the process modules Master or SlimMASTER to the measurement module stack enables more comprehensive as well as more accurate data analysis without the need for a PC. On request, we can supply the complete system in a housing specially tailored to your needs.

Cell Voltage Monitoring (CVM) Process Modules

The process modules add numerous functions to the CVM systems from SMART TESTSOLUTIONS. They offer synchronous data rates of up to 400 x 1 kHz per channel via the LVDS bus, a high-speed connection to the PD via Ethernet and bus interfaces (EtherCAT, CAN, GPIO).

Cell Voltage Simulation Modules

For the commissioning and testing of cell voltage measurement electronics and FuelCell control units, and in particular for the software testing of such ECUs, it is necessary to simulate cell-specific voltage values. The simulation modules of the MCM IntelliSim series, in conjunction with a master module enable active simulation of a fuel cell stack without the need to integrate a real stack into the test environment.

Multichannel Cell Voltage Pickup

In view of cell spacing of less than 1 millimetre in modern fuel cells, cell contacting poses a particular challenge. Furthermore, the different designs of the fuel cell stacks, whose bipolar plates provide different contact surfaces for harnessing the potential. For this reason there is no standard contacting unit. A CVP is basically an individual development, tailor-made for the electrochemical stack you use. A cell contacting unit CVP (Cell Voltage Pickup) is a multichannel potential tap for detecting cell voltages on batteries or fuel cell stacks. Depending on the stack used, different construction principles are employed. The CVP pictured here is just one example.

Cell Voltage Monitoring (CVM) Accessories

The CVM solution CVM Ex is aimed at cell voltage monitoring in stationary applications. Important features are the explosion protection, which is realised by housing the measuring modules in an Atex-certified enclosure, as well as the modular design, which enables high scalability and individual customer adaptations.

With test systems for Fuel Cell Control Units (FCCUs), developers can test the electronic components of fuel cell or battery systems without needing a real system. An essential component of the systems we develop for our customers is therefore cell voltage simulation (CVS). In addition to the cell voltages, the relevant environmental parameters are also simulated.
