Smith Brothers have cable jointers, switchgear fitters and test & commission engineers trained and ceritified, OPITO, BOSIET including EBS, for UK offshore work. We have practical experience of 11kV and 66kV offshore work including joints, terminations and Pfisterer connections.

Smith Brothers (Contracting) Ltd carry a wide range of testing equipment. All test equipment is fully calibrated. Our services include all aspects of electrical transmission and distribution. In addition we can cover commissioning of all rotating machines and associated equipment. Our dedicated service team includes highly qualified and experienced engineers who can not only meet but also exceed your expectations.

Experience in the design and installation of high voltage electrical infrastructure has placed Smith Brothers in a position ideally suited to carryout wind farm electrical balance of plant contracts. We have carried out Major Electrical Infrastructure Works at a number of Windfarm sites including: Whitelee Windfarm, Connaught Windfarm, Sancton Hill Windfarm, South Sharpely Windfarm, Fenlands Windfarm, Peel Rochdale Windfarm, Greater Gabbard Offshore Windfarm, Crystal Rigg 1 and 2 Windfarms. Smith Brothers engineers are experienced in the Electrical & Civil design, supply, installation and commissioning of Windfarm switchgear, transformers, cable infrastructure, earth systems, SCADA cabling and Civil Construction enabling the complete installation to be carried out. In addition to the on-site Electrical Balance of Plant works Smith Brothers can provide grid connections to the Windfarm site and are currently engaged in a number of these applications.

We have been involved in a number of Solar Farms and Photo-Voltaic Installation Projects in the past. We are currently tendering a number of projects which will hopefully help us to grow our business and expertise in this area of renewable energy generation.

We have been involved with a number of Bio-Generation Schemes including projects at Linstock Castle, GWE Bio-Gas and the pioneering pilot biogas conversion plant which has been built at Davyhulme Waste Water Treatment Works in Manchester.
