We provide maximum support for our structure by utilizing high yield strength 4”x4” and 5”x4” hollow structural steel sections on our racking systems. These horizontal beams perform better under loads, allow for larger spans and have less deflection than standard piping most competitors tend to use, making it the optimal choice for your ground mount design.

Our unique design allows a straightforward connection to the horizontal steel support beam. Manufactured by Solar Foundations in heavy-gauge steel followed by hot dip galvanizing, our patented caps permit simple installation with the ability to align the support beam tilt so that its strong axis is in the most advantageous orientation. Better able to accommodate wind load, our custom column caps also allow the flexibility to follow existing ground contours along the east-west axis for better performance and aesthetics.

Manufactured by Solar Foundations from heavy wall, hot-dipped galvanized steel, our patented telescopic design allows quick and easily adaptable length changes to match installation conditions.

Solar Foundations’ North Columns are typically installed as a two-piece unit to allow for varying site conditions. The solar continuous flight pile is installed to the required minimum depth and a stock length above grade extension is selected to meet heights as specified in the project plans.
