Solar Mounting Options

Solar Ballasted Mount System

Solar Mounting Solutions’ series of universal solar roof mounting products is one of the first to be certified under the UL 2703 listing for photovoltaic panel mounts. Our product has undergone rigorous testing to evaluate its efficiency and reliability, including 120 mph wind conditions, extreme temperature and humidity cycles, salt water spray, electrical grounding and bonding, and mechanical load tests. Using Computational Fluid Dynamics and wind tunnel testing we are able to optimize ballast requirements bringing our typical roof load to just 2.5-3.5 pounds per square foot.

SMS - Solar Penetrating Mount System

Solar Mounting Solutions offers multiple types of fastening options to secure the rack to the structure. The most practical method will be determined by the contractor/installer. We provide various attachment options which may include standoffs that can be welded, fastened, or glued in place. We can integrate around roofing curbs or create sub-structures above the roof surface. In some instances, a direct attachment to the steel or concrete deck material is preferred. In other cases the use of a truss system is ideal.

SMS - Solar Harvester Ground Mount System

Solar Mounting Solutions Ground Mount PV systems offer the flexibility to install arrays in an open area when available roof space is limited, obscured or absent. They can range in size from a few kilowatts to multimegawatts and can be built to accommodate a variety of site conditions. Our ground mounts allow you to specify the array’s optimal pitch and orientation to maximize kilowatt-hour production.
