RE is plentiful but intermittent. 10,000 times more solar energy strikes the earth everyday than the world’s daily usage. RE can be used to power electrolysis creating H2 and O2 gas. Gases are collected, compressed and stored in tanks. These tanks are the energy storage part of the system, the battery. When the sun stops shining or the wind stops blowing and energy is demanded the gases are combusted in the steam generator. A steam turbine drives a generator supplying electricity. Water is produced that can be returned for electrolysis.
