Sunpower - Spiral-wound Heat Exchanger

A spiral-wound heat exchanger (SWHE) comprises multiple layers of tubes wound helically around the central core (mandrel) with a constant longitudinal pitch. The coiling direction alternates from one layer to the next. Radial distances between each layer are held constant by space bars. The tube-side fluids are in spiral flow, and the shell-side fluid passes through the tube bundle in countercurrent flow, which achieves very high heat transfer coefficients in both tube and shell sides by creating vortex and Venturi effect.

SunPower - Various Special Shaped Tubes for Effective Heat Transfer

Corrugated low finned tubes are special shaped tube with ripples on inner pipe wall and thread arc fillisters on outer pipe wall, which can enhance the impulsive motion of turbulent current of the fluid in and out of the pipe, change the flow state between fluid layer and pipe wall, break the boundary layer, intensify heat transfer and clean up the dirt while the fluid flushes the pipe wall, The heat transfer coefficient of corrugated low finned pipe is 1.3 to 2.2 times of that of normal pipe.

Sunpower - Spiral Heat Exchanger

Spiral Plate Heat Exchanger is an assembly of two or more long sheets, usually separated by studs, wrapped to form concentric spiral channels. Turbulent flows occur in the spiral channels at lower Reynolds number due to the studs and centrifugal force and a higher heat transfer coefficient is produced.

Sunpower - Corrugated Tube Heat Exchanger

The Corrugated Tube Heat Exchanger is mainly used under the condition of heat transfer with heating and cooling. The material of the corrugated tubes can be thin-wall stainless steel, copper and carbon steel. The inner pipe wall can change the fluid flow state, and the outer pipe wall can increase the heat transfer area and impulsive motion so as to achieve the purpose of heat transfer on the two sides. The heat transfer coefficient of Corrugated Tube Heat Exchanger is 1.2 to 2.4 times of that of normal shell-and-tube heat exchanger. Because  of the good compensation of the the special wave-shaped section the corrugated tubes, the tubesheet will not fail with cracks induced by over pulling stress.
