Tightening EU legislation and consumer demand to be more “green” is increasingly sweeping the non-road mobile machinery sector, and the market is set to see a growth of over 80 billion (USD) within the next 10 years. The automotive industry has been a guide for battery manufacturers to use for building batteries for the non-road sector, however this does not always work because the power and volume levels are not the same. TBM has hosted 2 successful forums for the NRMM sector to discuss Emission Control for their diesel engines. One of the responses to emission control regulations from the EU Commission has been to replace diesel machinery with electric machinery, and batteries play a major role in this new area of research.
